Central Lake Farmer to Community Fundraiser
This fundraiser combines service learning about local food systems with raising funds for school field trips. Students typically tour three farms that promote sustainability and locally grown foods. They get the chance to meet the farmers, see how their products are produced, and sample the products they’ll be selling! In the classroom, what they learned at the farms is reinforced as it relates to all subject areas, and the class gets ready to host their FarmRaiser. Finally, students become advocates for healthy, local eating by selling these high quality products to their friends and family… learning valuable life lessons along the way and growing our local economy.

About FarmRaiser
FarmRaiser is a fresh alternative for school fundraisers. By linking farmers and artisans with students to create wholesome, healthy fundraising campaigns, FarmRaiser is taking a set of activities that are familiar to all American families and making them new again; restoring value and purpose to an annual ritual that has lost its way in a sea of sugar and junk food.
